Process
Most applicants follow a similar flow. First, review the instructions on the website of the Chinese embassy, consulate, or visa center with jurisdiction over your residence. Confirm whether appointments are required and whether submissions must be in person. Rules differ by location, so treat the local page as your source of truth.
Next, complete the application form carefully and prepare photos and supporting documents. When you book an appointment, print or save the confirmation and plan to arrive early with all originals and photocopies arranged as required. If biometrics are required, you will provide fingerprints at the time of submission or during a later appointment.
At submission, present your documents neatly and answer any questions briefly and consistently. Pay the visa and service fees using the methods accepted in your location. Keep the receipt safe; you may need it to track your application and to collect your passport.
After you submit, monitor the processing timeline and wait for a collection notice or status update. If courier return is offered and you choose it, verify your address details are correct. When your passport is ready, inspect the visa immediately to confirm your personal details, validity, number of entries, and duration of each stay.
